Here’s what you can expect from your Insight instructors:
- Experience: All instructors are certified in the State of Washington and those who teach core courses are “highly-qualified” as defined under No Child Left Behind. Insight instructors have an average of 15 years of classroom experience and 74% have at least a master’s degree. Instructors receive ongoing professional development so they stay updated on the latest online instruction techniques and tools.
- Availability: Instructors respond to student needs through multiple communication avenues: email, phone, and interactive whiteboard. They are required to keep structured weekly ‘office hours’, at which time students and parents can interact with them (virtually) at scheduled times.
- Flexibility: Insight students rely on their instructors at different levels—you choose how often you connect with your teachers based on your individual preferences and needs.
- Planning and Mentorship: Our iMentor instructors, also Washington certified, work closely with students and their families in a mentor-type role on the formation, progression and evaluation of a student learning plan. They also serve as the family’s contact point for evaluating overall progress and advocating for student needs.
- Understanding: Insight teachers build relationships with each and every student. They’re here to support you through every phase of your high school years at Insight.
